Below are a few therapies we use at Dakota Chiropractic to help you take back your health.

Diversified Technique (Manual Adjusting)

Manual Adjustment is one of the most common types of chiropractic adjustments, as well as one of the most well-known. Using our hands only, we create movement in problem areas throughout the spine. This action delivers a novel neurological stimulus and can result in an increased range of motion and decreased pain in the spine and beyond.

Activator Technique

The Activator Technique is the second most-common chiropractic adjustment, and can be a helpful technique for new patients who are hesitant about manual adjustments. It is similar to Manual Adjusting, except rather than using our hands, we use an Activator Adjusting Instrument to deliver stimulus to our patient’s joints.

Instrument-Assisted Muscle Therapy

With Instrument-Assisted Muscle Therapy, or IASTM, we use massage guns and gua sha tools to increase blood flow and move inflammation out of an area.

Soft Tissue Therapy

Like a focused mini-massage, we work the soft tissues around the area we adjust to prep them for an effective adjustment.

Electrotherapy

Sometimes called EMS or Muscle Stim. It works by delivering small electrical impulses through electrodes that have adhesive pads that attach to the skin. The electrical impulses flood the nervous system and interfere with the body’s ability to send pain signals to the spinal cord and brain. The same impulses stimulate the body to produce endorphins (natural pain relievers).

RockTape (Kinesio-taping)

The Kinesio-taping Method, or RockTape method, utilizes therapeutic tape to draw the brain’s attention to an area, allowing the increased focus to stabilize the area so that the brain feels comfortable turning down the pain signal in that area—perfect for rehabilitating injuries! Dr. Hannah is specially trained to help you with your next Kinesio-taping appointment!

Posture Rehabilitation

Bad posture can lead to numerous chronic ailments, ranging from back, shoulder, and neck pain to fatigue, headaches, and even mood swings! At Dakota Chiropractic, we can guide you to a functional posture (not “perfect” or statue-esque) that will serve you and your health for YEARS.
